Accelerated Piano (APP) & Piano Prep Programme (PPP)
Terms & Conditions

Updated Jan 2024

LESSONS

Lessons are 60 minutes (APP) and 45 minutes (PPP) long, occurring once a week. Lessons take place during the East Sussex Term Dates, plus an additional 4 lessons in August, offering up to 43 lessons a year. Click here to view our term dates.

TUITION FEES

Tuition is charged at a monthly flat rate. This avoids large changes in invoicing from month to month. Most months contain 3 lessons, some 4-5, others 2. Fees are reviewed and updated annually inline with the Musicians Union rates.

PAYMENT

Payment is taken automatically via secure Stripe payment software, in advance of the month's lessons on the 1st of the month. In the event that payment is withheld, we have the right to cease lessons until payment is made in full for any lessons unpaid.

MATERIALS

Materials are not included in the tuition fee - first book set costs around £20-25 which we sell in studio. We always check for permission before taking any payment.

DROP OFF/PICK UP

Please drop off and pick up your child on time. There is no shelter from rain and we cannot take students in early. Due to limited space, parents are not able to stay for the duration of the lesson unless under special circumstances. If you are staying in your car for the lesson duration, please park further down the road to avoid congestion.

CCTV/SECURITY CAMERAS

For training purposes and safeguarding, our teaching rooms have been fitted with security cameras. Recordings made on these devices are used for teacher observations and also for child protection. If you have any concerns regarding the use of these cameras, please don't hesitate to contact Becca Phillips (Safeguarding Lead) at becca@cadenzatuition.co.uk.

CANCELLATIONS

Missed lessons are not refunded since monthly tuition reserves your regular space. If your child cannot attend a lesson, please visit your account to cancel the lesson, where you will be given a lesson credit to use to reschedule, subject to availability. If you are cancelling within 6 hours of the lesson there will be no Make-Up credit, or refund.

  • You may cancel a piano lesson with at least 6 hour's notice to receive a Make-Up credit.

  • Late cancellations (i.e. lessons cancelled with less than 6 hours from the lesson start time) do not qualify for Make-Up credits.

  • A Make-Up credit will be issued to your account immediately (to be used within 90 days), if you haven't already reached your limit (Cadenza Tuition allows up to 3 active Make-Up credits per membership at a time, beyond this limit cancelled lessons will be forfeited).

  • Make-Up piano lessons can be booked online at any time based on teachers' availabilities, and can be with a different teacher if that time/day suits you best.

  • Make-Up lessons may not be rescheduled – if cancelled, Make-Up lessons are forfeited.

  • Students must be enrolled in lessons to use make-up credits, which cannot be substituted for tuition payments.

TEACHER ABSENCES

If a teacher needs to miss a lesson, we will cover the lesson with another member of staff. If this cannot happen and the lesson needs to be cancelled, the next month's payment will be deducted by the cost of a single lesson, per student.

TERMINATION OF LESSONS

To terminate lessons, submit a request in writing to admin@cadenzatuition.co.uk by the 15th of the month to take effect at the end of that month. E.g. if notice is received on the 16th of May, tuition is billed for June and takes effect at the end of June.

All payments are non-refundable. We require this notice so we can plan for the next month of lessons and keep our programmes running smoothly for the benefit of all students.

You may withdraw the cancellation at any time before it takes effect but your teacher and/or time slot can not be guaranteed.
